Overseas archaeology has a long history in developed countries.By excavating ancient cultural relics such as Egyptian pyramids and Dunhuang in China, developed countries have not only enhanced their international reputation, but also preserved precious cultural heritage for mankind. For China, strengthening archaeological cooperation with Africa is not only conducive to enhancing China's soft power, but also of great strategic significance to the implementation of the “Belt and Road” initiative and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. At present,China is engaged in joint archaeology with Kenya,Egypt and other African countries, and has made great progress in technical assistance, cooperation and cultural excavation. In view of the current situation and existing challenges of China-Africa joint archaeology, adjustments can be made from the following three aspects:firstly, include China-Africa joint archaeology into China's overall strategy of the “Belt and Road” in Africa;Secondly,we need to develop a model for joint archaeology and build partnerships with more African countries;Thirdly,we need to strengthen the training of joint archeological personnel and expand the social impact of joint archeology between China and Africa; Finally, the experience of developed countries should be studied in depth and multidisciplinary research and cooperation should be strengthened.
