There are 607，500 inhabitants in the Macau Special Administrative Region by the end of 2013. In the past 30 years，the developing trend of Macau’s population has been：a steady natural growth，fluctuations in changing rate over the same period and changes in gender ratio. In the meantime，aging，insufficient human resources and slow natural growth have also emerged. In order to deal with such situation，the Government has adopted a number of policies to elevate the demographic quality，to cope with aging and to introduce foreign population in reasonable terms to make up the insufficiency of human resources. It has practically proved that these policies are playing active roles in laying a favourable foundation for economic construction and social development of Macau.
