There were great differences in terms of trade modes, routes, subjects and main commodities between the Sino-Burmese trade and the Sino-Siamese trade during the early Qing Dynasty. The trade between the Qing Dynasty and Burma was mainly commercial trade, which was usually conducted by the merchants from Yunnan,Fujian and Guangdong provinces through both land and sea routes. And its biggest selection of commodity was cotton and jade. The trade between the Qing Dynasty and Siam included tribute trade and commercial trade, which were usually conducted by the merchants from Fujian and Guangdong provinces through sea route. And its biggest selection of commodity was rice and Sapan-wood. These differences are not only directly related to the geographical communications and products of the three countries, but also closely connected to the bilateral trade policies and diplomatic relations between the countries. And from these differences we can see that the trade relations between the Qing Dynasty and tributary countries were actually different in different periods and regions.
