In the context of Sino-U.S. trade frictions，some new trends have emerged in Sino-Japanese trade. In 2019，bilateral trade between China and Japan showed overall negative growth，and Japan’s share of China’s total exports and imports also declined. From the perspective of trade structure，the decrease in Japan’s exports to China is mainly reflected in industries such as machinery and equipment，electronics，and auto parts，and the decrease in imports to China is mainly reflected in industries such as clothing，chemicals，and communication equipment. To a certain extent，this reflects that Sino-U.S. trade frictions have disrupted global supply chains and caused an impact on Sino-Japanese trade. At the same time，the downward pressure on the global economy has increased，and the total volume of world trade has contracted；Japanese companies have shifted their position in the Chinese market，relying more on China’s domestic industrial chain；China and the countries along the Belt and Road have strengthened economic ties and trade has become more diversified. These factors affect the development and changes of Sino-Japanese trade.
