2018年，东盟在“坚韧团结，创新求变”的主题下取得诸多发展成就，经济发展态势总体良好，一体化建设持续推进；区域合作中的中心地位上升。但是，2018年东盟的发展也并非一帆风顺，经济上同时存在外部挑战与内部挑战；政治上陷入国家优先与东盟优先的矛盾；外交上受到大国博弈与内部分化的挑战。展望2019年，东盟仍将持续面临2018年的类似挑战。尽管外部因素瞩目闪耀，但是隐约可见的内因将是东盟发展的关键。
Under the theme “Resilient and Innovative” in 2018，ASEAN has got progresses with favorable economic growth and further integration，and the centrality in regional cooperation has been strengthened. Meanwhile，ASEAN had to face the external and internal challenges in economy，the dilemma between national priority and ASEAN priority，potential crisis that occurred in the big-power game and internal division as well，which will continue into 2019. Although the external factors play a remarkable role，the inner power would take positive effect on the development for ASEAN.
