《非洲学发凡》是刘鸿武先生30年非洲研究工作的理论与实践的总结，是国内首部非洲学研究专著，既有理论思考，又有案例解读，融知识性、实践性、学理性于一体，对从事非洲研究的理论与实务工作者具有参考意义。《非洲学发凡》的价值首先体现在对非洲学的概念、学科属性、结构特征等基本问题原创性的理论探讨，其次体现在如何开展非洲学分科研究的实践思维论述，最后也体现在厘清智库思维和人才建设对非洲学学科建设与中非关系实践的重要意义。
African Studies from Chinese Perspective is a summary of the theories and practices of Mr.Liu Hongwu’s 30 years of African research work. It is the first monograph on African studies in China.
