In political domain，Estonia had its new president election in 2016 where Kersti Kalijulaid with the highest votes became the new president of the Republic of Estonia and also the first female president in Estonian history，regarding economics，Estonia’s GDP is growing slowly but steadily，in social aspects，Estonia has welcomed a new round of population growth since 2015，in terms of foreign relations，Estonia stresses its traditional friendship with the Baltic countries，aims at EU and northern European countries as its main targets for economic diplomacy and is dedicated to the promotion and strengthening of regional cooperation. 2016 was the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Estonia. Under the Belt and Road initiative and “16+1 Cooperation” framework，Estonia and China have made progress in their political mutual trust and economic cooperation as well as many other aspects. China-Estonia relationship has entered a new development stage.
