2018年,澳大利亚又经历了混乱动荡,以12年来第七任总理的任命告结束。
Australia experienced another year of turmoil and change culminating in the appointment of its seventh Prime Minister in 12 years who called an election just nine months later. Despite the polls and commentators predicting a government loss, especially considering the turmoil and policy paralysis that had characterised the governments of both Turnbull and Morrison,Morrison’s government was returned.
While the election confirmed the status quo by returning the Coalition government, the campaign was conducted with more rancour than usual and revealed a number of fault lines in the Australian community. This chapter focuses on the Prime Ministerships of Turnbull and Morrison leading up to the election in May,2019.
