Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, the China-Europe Railway Express operators have seized the opportunity and made every effort to undertake sea and air freight, achieving a counter-trend growth in both the number of operations and the volume of cargoes, with an expanded group of friends. This demonstrates the role of China-Europe Railway Express as strategic channels, making China’s contribution to stabilizing the international supply chain and supporting the global fight against the epidemic. In the past two years,China-Europe Railway Express has shifted from the “point-to-point” mode to the “hub-to-hub” mode, and gradually formed an operation system that features combination of trunks and branches and distribution at the hubs. The five assembly centers, namely Chongqing,Chengdu,Xi’an,Zhengzhou, and Urumqi, have produced the scale effect, and the travel lines through Changsha,Yiwu, and Wuhan show strong development momentum. Looking into the future, with the early entry into the post-epidemic era of many countries in Europe and Asia and the growing uncertainty of the international situation,China-Europe Railway Express will face many challenges while securing large market space.
