肯尼亚拥有丰富的非物质文化遗产，这些非物质文化遗产对于维护肯尼亚文化的多样性至关重要。保护非物质文化遗产，有助于肯尼亚人更好地了解形成目前处境的力量和环境，进而加强身份认同、文化认同。但肯尼亚人并未充分认识到非物质文化遗产的重要性，文化遗产保护面临威胁和挑战。目前，与肯尼亚非物质文化遗产相关的旅游业、手工业、艺术表现形式对拉动经济有重要贡献。但是，肯尼亚政府、非政府组织和部落应该在保护非物质文化遗产方面通力合作，保护肯尼亚的土著知识体系、传统知识、传统文化、本土语言等，为维护全球文化多样性发挥作用。
Kenya has a rich intangible cultural heritage，which is vital to maintaining the cultural diversity of Kenyans. Protecting intangible cultural heritage will help Kenyans better understand the forces and environment that form their current situation，thereby strengthening their national and cultural identity. However，Kenyans have not fully realized the importance of intangible cultural heritage，and the protection of cultural heritage is facing threats and challenges. At present，tourism，handicrafts，and artistic expressions related to Kenya’s intangible cultural heritage have made important contributions to boosting the economy. However，the Kenyan government，non-governmental organizations and tribes should work together to protect the intangible cultural heritage including protecting Kenya’s indigenous knowledge system，traditional knowledge，traditional culture，and local languages，in order to play a role in maintaining global cultural diversity.
